The Pittsburg ArtWalk is back! Our Spring ArtWalk will be held Friday, April 29, 2022, from 5:00—9:00 p.m., in downtown Pittsburg, Kansas. Look for the PPL Bookmobile at 5th and Broadway. Stop by to make a FREE scratch art bookmark!
With over 50 artists participating in this spring event, this season is sure to be our biggest and best yet!
Something NEW to the ArtWalk this season: The Writer’s Block! Attendees are encouraged to visit the west side of 6th street to see several poets and authors. The Writer’s Block will feature several writers selling their poetry, fiction, and children’s books. PSU English Department will also have students who will write poems for patrons on the spot for $5. Inside TJ Lelands from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., there will be a poetry and fiction reading, with an open mic at the end.
The SEK Humane Society will be on site to allow people to walk dogs during the event. Lakeside Elementary students with the assistance of Pittsburg State University art students, built and painted several dog houses that they will auction off at the ArtWalk, with ALL PROCEEDS going to the Humane Society.
There will be plenty of art to feast your eyes on, and a ton of music for your ears. Four area bands will be performing during the ArtWalk located at our Main Stage area in Europe Park. We have introduced 4 additional stage areas: inside Eclectic Soul Studio, the Writer’s Block in the west 6th street intersection, the B22 courtyard in front of the Pitsco Idea Shop, and a performance stage located at the 7th street crosswalk in front of The Finishing Touch.
