A Cup of Conversation in October

October 19, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month and our guest for our second Cup of Conversation, is Dr. David Hurford, director of the Center for Research, Evaluation, and Awareness of Dyslexia (Center for READing) at Pittsburg State University.

Hurford will have copies of the children’s book, I Have Dyslexia to hand out that morning to those in attendance. (Please click here for more information about the book.)

Hurford recently met with Laura Kelly, Kansas Governor, and Michelle Lujan Grisham, New Mexico Governor, to explain the innovative work the Center has done to help those with dyslexia and reading difficulties to improve reading skills.

We invite you to the Library on Thursday, October 19 at 10:00 a.m. to enjoy a hot beverage and learn more about Dr. Hurford’s work and what he does in his spare time.
