Coming soon! Courtyard Renovation Project
Pittsburg Public Library is excited to announce that the library courtyard will soon receive a much-needed update.
During the pandemic, the need for useable outdoor spaces quickly became apparent. Unfortunately, the library’s courtyard space currently lacks shade and the uneven brick pavers are dangerous to anyone with mobility issues.
We are very fortunate that the PPL Foundation agreed to fund a renovation of the courtyard to repair these issues. The new courtyard will feature a smooth concrete surface with a custom shade structure.
We are currently working with an architect to ensure that this project will enhance the beauty of the historic building and meet the approval of the Kansas Historical Society.
We believe the new Library Courtyard will be a gathering place for the community–a beautiful space to attend a program, read, study, or relax. Many thanks to the PPL Foundation!
