Pittsburg Public Library is pleased to announce the opening of our new Seed Library! Stop by the Library to browse and choose up to five free packages of seeds, including flowers, veggies, fruits, herbs, and more (while supplies last).

Gardening benefits all ages by promoting calmness, happiness, exercise, brain development, creativity, social connections, plant care knowledge, and environmental awareness. Watching plants grow brings joy and health to all ages!

The Seed Library at the Pittsburg Public Library provides access to seeds, knowledge, and learning opportunities. Plus, a repurposed original card catalog is the perfect home for the seed library. Check it out!

  • The Seed Library is free and open all community members, with or without a library card (while supplies last).
  • Seed availability is first come, first serve. Please limit 5 seed packets per family.
  • Grow a culture of sharing with seeds and knowledge!
  • Use the Library’s resources to maximize your gardening skills. Need help finding materials—just ask!
  • Most importantly—have fun!
  • Please note that we are unable to accept harvested seed donations at this time.
