Youth Services

The Youth Services Department of Pittsburg Public Library is located in two areas on the first floor of the library:  The Children’s Library and the Teen Area.

The Children’s Library serves children, educators, and caregivers.  The room is decorated in an Alice in Wonderland theme and offers a child-friendly, creative atmosphere to learn and play.  Along with a wide assortment of library materials, children have access to educational games and puzzles. Computers are also available with learning resources and a variety of child-friendly games.  A wide array of programs that encourage literacy and lifelong learning are offered through the year.  Please check the library’s calendar for current offerings.

The Teen Area of the library is located in a separate area from the Children’s Library on the first floor.  The collection offers a dynamic selection of young adult materials as well as a large collection of graphic novels.  Computers and study tables are reserved for teen use only.  The library offers a monthly VolunTeen teen volunteer program, plus a variety of teen programs throughout the year.

Please check the library’s calendar for current events.
